Hi guys,

Sorry to hear about the big shake.  I cannot imagine how scary that was!  How did your stations stand up?

durngthe sept 4 2010 earthquake we had only been broadcasting for a month , i got worried that everything would be smashed and all over the floor. when i checked on the studio in our house everything was still standing, we had no power for about 4 hours , once that came back on everything came back online perfectly. the studio has now stood up to 4000 odd aftershocks some pretty big.

A good reason to invest in a standby power source. A decent sized UPS would have kept you on the air during the power outage - and allowed you to broadcast emergency information - when most of the commercial stations were off the air due to infrastructure failures.

That is excellent news. Much kudos to you!

You have better infrastructure now than some of the commercial stations.
It was interesting to note that back last year when the big one hit, it was the smaller stations and the LPFM operators who were able to remain on air and keep the public informed.

That's bad news, sorry to hear about that.
